Astronomy can be a b*tch sometimes.

According to astronomy, when you wish upon
a star you're actually a few million years late. That star is dead,
Just like your dreams.

Well, if you wish upon a star you can see with your own eyes, that wish can't be millions of years late, since the Milky Way (the galaxy we're in) is only 30000 lightyears wide. Out of there, the only "star" we can see without a telescope is Andromeda, which is 2 million lightyears away and is a galaxy. Oh, and even if you were "a few million years late", stars' average lifespan is around 8*10^9 years, so the chances to wish upon a star that is on the last "million" years of its life is actually pretty small. So, according to astronomy, unless you make your wishes with a very potent telescope, YOU ARE WRONG. L2Physics b4 you speak.
